Don't "Just Survive" Your First Day, Thrive! Become the Aide Every Teacher Wants in Their Classroom: When I walked into some SpEd classrooms on my first day, I felt overwhelmed. The bells ringing, some students displaying higher energy than others, and Teachers were often too busy to give me any instructions. I remember spending my first weeks wondering if I could manage this type of work and unsure If I could handle it. I was dedicated and determined to make it work. This is why I created this 30 minute Classroom Ready Handbook (HB). *Day One Confidence: No more "What do I do now?" moments. My checklists gives me a mission for every part of the day—from the bus line to the goodbye song. *Professionalism: I dress professionally appropriate while managing behaviors. Sometimes without saying a word. *Safe and dignified methods for me and the Student’s: Restroom and personal care duty protocols vary. I had to learn quick, respectful steps for a safe, stress free outcome. * Consistency: By showing up everyday and knowing how to transition a student from the class to the playground, loud cafeterias, and after school hallways, they were requesting me by name. My HB outlines roles, responsibilities and techniques for supporting any student in an academic setting. I also share simple, effective ways to communicate with teachers and parents. I believe that anyone wanting to assist with instructional tasks to help any student succeed, will be grateful for this HB. It will provide useful, practical tips to apply in each classroom. What’s Inside this Elementary level HB? *First 30 Minutes Huddle: How to sync with teachers to have them on your team. *School Duty Master Class: Specific, step-by-step checklists for Bus, Recess, Lunch, and Restroom duty. This HB provides proper applicable guidance for Paraprofessionals and School Aides working in Elementary School settings. Learn more TODAY! Middle and High School levels coming soon.
